Plant Care

Kalanchoe

Kalanchoe is a colorful succulent known for its clusters of long-lasting, brightly colored flowers and thick, water-storing leaves. Native to Madagascar, it thrives in dry environments and prefers bright light. With compact growth and cheerful blooms, it’s a favorite for windowsills and gifting occasions. Kalanchoe is also very low maintenance, making it great for beginner plant lovers and busy households.

Watering

Water when the top inch of soil is dry. Allow the soil to fully dry out between waterings—Kalanchoe is drought-tolerant and prone to root rot if overwatered.

Light

Needs bright, indirect light to encourage blooming. Can tolerate some direct sun, especially in the morning. Too little light may reduce flowering.

Fertilizer

Feed once a month in spring and summer with a balanced liquid fertilizer. Reduce feeding during fall and winter.

Temperature

Prefers temperatures between 60–85°F (15–29°C). Protect from cold drafts and frost.
